Onika Tanya Maraj, her real name known as Nicki Minaj was born on December 8, 1982 in the town of St. James, a suburb of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Nicki was raised by her grandmother until age five, when she moved with his parents to the New York borough of Queens. In 2003 finished high school at LaGuardia High School, a school specializing in performing arts, where Nicki actively participated in the program of action.

She then signed a contract with the company Young Money Entertainment, Minaj as a rapper joined the group formed by this company record, and they released the singles "Every Girl", "BedRock" and "Roger That". In December 2009, Young Money artists released the album "We Are Young Money" which ranked at number 9 in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 200 and was later certified Gold Record
Her debut solo album, "Pink Friday" was released in November 2010, immediately becoming a commercial success reaching the top of the charts Billboard 200 in the United States and certified platinum, only a month after its release.
